2008 Grant Shand with co-driver Chris Parsons went to New Zealand to compete in the Silver Fern Rally and finished in 3rd place overall, 1st in class and the first UK competitor home. This marathon rally covers over 800 high speed stage miles over 8 days in the South Island, with spectactular scenery.  The special stages are mainly closed gravel roads, some stages running in excess of 60 miles, with extreme weather conditions ranging from dust to snow both encounted on the same day. 

Rallyxtreme built the car to cope with endurance together with maintaining reliability to complete the rally, this all paid off as the service crew only had the usual spanner checks to complete each evening before the car was parked in parc ferme, driver and co-driver completed a wheel change during a stage this lost them 4 minutes.
